Taking cask storage to a whole new level
Currently, the main hangar comprises curved lattice roof trusses on cantilever concrete stations fixed to solid concrete slab. The roof to the hangar is torch on felt. Sliding hangar doors are present to both gable ends.

The conversion of Gaydon Hanger on Machrihanish Airbase, Campbeltown, into a fully racked, state of the art, bonded warehouse capable of storing up to 40,000 casks of whisky.
Project includes the design and build of fire rated compartments, ATEX compliant lighting, ventilation and a bespoke steel cask racking structure.
The ancillary blocks comprise of various offices, storage, and service rooms. Construction is by way of cavity masonry with external facing brick and inner blockwork leaf. Sections of feature concrete paneling are present beneath windows.
The roof deck is formed in steel lattice beams with woodwool slabs over. Roofs are pitched with profiled metal clad covering and fascias. Floors to the ancillary accommodation are a continuation of the concrete slab serving the hangar.
Windows comprise polyester powder coated aluminum framed opening and fixed panes, double glazed. Lighting to the hangar comprises low-bay type fittings with fluorescent lamps. Lighting to the ancillary accommodation generally comprises suspended twin batten fittings with fluorescent lamps.
